What to do when a dental trauma occurs?
Push your boundaries in dental traumatology
A renowned expert in dental traumatology discusses current options for treating dental injuries – from literature to clinical practice. Gain invaluable practical experience at César de Gregorio's lecture in Prague on October 23, 2026.
Dental Traumatology Masterclass: Imaging Modalities, Complications, and Evidence-Based Treatment
Dental injuries are among the less frequent scenarios encountered in clinical practice, which can often lead to feelings of uncertainty. It is therefore crucial to focus on thorough diagnostics and identify the key factors that fundamentally influence the prognosis of treated teeth and guide clinical decision-making in challenging situations.
In dental traumatology, a structured, evidence-based treatment approach is of paramount importance. In 2020, the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) published the latest clinical guidelines, providing a standardized framework for the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care of dental trauma. Selected sections of these guidelines will be evaluated and discussed within the context of real-world clinical cases, emphasizing their practical application and integration into daily practice.
What You Will Gain
By combining insights from imaging modalities, clinical expertise, and the latest scientific evidence, participants will acquire a practical perspective on dental traumatology, including the management of complex dental injuries.
A renowned expert combining academic knowledge with clinical expertise.
A comprehensive insight into dental traumatology.
Practical tips and a structured approach to the treatment of dental injuries.
5 Czech Dental Chamber (ČSK) credits.
Learning Objectives
The goal is to enhance confidence in diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical procedures, ensuring that results are predictable and biologically evidence-based.
1. To understand how CBCT influences clinical decision-making in endodontics and dental traumatology, improving the detection and management of anatomical complexities.
3. To recognize and manage the most common post-traumatic complications, including pulp necrosis, inflammatory and replacement resorptions, and apical periodontitis.
2. To establish evidence-based treatment protocols in dental traumatology, based on the IADT (2020) guidelines and current scientific literature.
4. To improve predictability and long-term outcomes in dental trauma through structured decision-making algorithms and clinical case discussions.

Dr. César de Gregorio,
DDS, MSc., Ph.D.
Dr. César de Gregorio earned his dental degree from the Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2006. In 2008, he completed his postgraduate program in Endodontics with honors and received the AEDE Best Research of a Graduate Student award. That same year, he was awarded Best Clinical Case, followed by the Best Oral Communication award from the Spanish Endodontic Association in 2010.
Between 2009 and 2013, he served at a university clinic while simultaneously maintaining a private practice limited exclusively to Endodontics. In 2013, he joined the Department of Endodontics at the University of Washington as an Assistant Professor, where he also practiced as an endodontist at the Center for Pediatric Dentistry. He earned his PhD in 2020.
Dr. de Gregorio has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) and currently serves on its Congresses and Meetings Committee. Since 2016, he has been the Associate Director of the Advanced Endodontics postgraduate program at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Madrid, Spain) and maintains a private practice focused exclusively on Endodontics and Dental Traumatology.
